Ernesto earns a modest living in a catering hall while his wife Maria stays home to care for Alejandro. The child has Downs Syndrome and requires fully supervised care. The parents have to decide whether to keep him in the U.S. (Alejandro has citizen status), or keep him with Maria in Puebla, where they said there are few resources for a Downs child.
